Dana Nelson DANA NELSON
Owner / Stylist

Dana has been in the hair industry for 25+ years and believes wholeheartedly in the transformative power of good hair—no matter how many times you reinvent yourself. She credits ongoing education (at places like Toni & Guy and Aveda) as the key to her success, and continues to learn about the latest hair styles and techniques, showcasing Green Twig creations in promotional photo and video shoots. Prior to starting Green Twig Salon, Dana worked at salons in the Bay Area and Texas. Though rarely requested, high hair is still part of her skill set.
Biggest inspirations: Street fashion and industry peers

Jessica JESSICA HAGGANS
Stylist

Customizing beautiful haircuts and rich color is something Jessica is passionate about. She’s lived in San Francisco for the past 10 years and been inspired by music, film, pop and club culture, along with street and urban style. She brings that influence into her work behind the chair, so whether you want a beautiful highlight or a sleek bob, you’ll be in good hands.
Favorite accessory for great hair: Eyeliner

Lindsay LINDSAY MORRISON
Stylist

A Santa Cruz native, Lindsay’s path in hair design began by doing makeovers for her high school friends. After spending a few years at CSUSF, she decided to take her passion to the next level and attended Paul Mitchell the School, in Costa Mesa. With a fantastic education, experience at a high-volume Orange County salon, and advanced education at Vidal Sassoon under her belt, Lindsay headed back to the Bay Area and found a home at Green Twig.
Favorite part of this industry: Making people feel as good as they look.

Mattea MATEA HEINEMAN
Stylist

Growing up in Portland inspired Matea in many ways, but it was the perfect bob of Janet Weiss (of Sleater-Kinney fame) that played an integral role in her love of great hair. After moving to San Francisco, Matea took this passion for perfect hair and a “running with scissors” attitude straight to the Aveda Institute to begin her journey in the industry, and continued her education at Vidal Sassoon. When she’s not creating meticulously precise bob haircuts, intricate and beautiful highlights, and fantastic men’s cuts, she can be found knitting, baking blueberry pies and shopping for vintage dresses.
Biggest Inspirations: 1970’s outlaw country music, 8mm home movies of her Mom when she was young and her clients—the best part of her day!

michaelyn MICHAELYN SMITH
Stylist

Michaelyn’s journey as a hairstylist began earlier than most, as she decided to conquer cosmetology school while still in high school. With her license in hand (and her high school diploma shortly after) it’s been whirlwind of creating great hair ever since. With more than 5 years in the industry and advanced education in both New York and Chicago, Michaelyn decided to pack up her shears, leave the Midwest and bring her talent to San Francisco. She is a fantastic addition to the Green Twig family!
Biggest Passion: Creating the perfect color or cut for every client and creating fun, funky hair!

Missy MISSY LOWE
Makeup Artist / Salon Coordinator

Missy was fascinated by the transformative power of makeup from the time she first saw her grandmother apply lipstick without a using a mirror. At that moment she was hooked, so it’s no surprise she’s made a career helping others put their best faces forward. Years of work, and training, in San Francisco, New York, Los Angeles and Europe has helped her perfect her craft and also gave her experience managing salons. Lucky for us, her training and natural eye for the perfect look make a fantastic mash up which fits in perfectly at Green Twig.
Beauty must-have: Red lipstick! Just be sure to choose the best color for your skin tone and personality.

Megan MEGAN CHANATRY
Stylist

After Megan finished her degree in business management from Kent University, she realized that cubicle life wasn’t for her and that spurred her to follow her dream and become a stylist. So with her future in front of her, she enrolled at the Aveda Institute in Ohio and away she went. With her license in hand, she furthered her education in Chicago and Orlando and won a chance to work backstage for the Mid-America Beauty Show’s runway show. Shortly after her move to San Francisco she joined our team and has been creating beautiful hair ever since.
Sparks my creativity: Runway hair, beautiful updos and fun, wearable hair
